Panipat Movie Review: Lagaan, Ashutosh returned to the rhythm of Swades

Film: Panipat - The Great Bitrayal
Artists: Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Behl, Padmini Kolhapure, Mantra and Zeenat Aman etc.
Director: Ashutosh Gowariker
Producer: Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar

There are rare directors in cinema who manage to make even better films than their best. Ashutosh Gowariker's directorial journey started with Aamir Khan and has reached Arjun Kapoor through Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. The challenge for Ashutosh this time was most because Arjun Kapoor is neither a superstar nor his car is on his career like Aamir, Shah Rukh or Hrithik. Ashutosh played the role of Dronacharya in showing Arjun the bird's eye in this film and Arjun also managed to hit the target this time.

Panipat - The Great Bitrayal story is from the same period that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shown in the film Bajirao Mastani. Since the plot of both the films is of the same period, so is the dress, the life is the same. But the similarity of both films is just here. Here on the story of Bajirao's love of Mastani, love of Sadashiv Rao is heavy. Sadashiv Rao has become a hero because of the gesture of Swarna Janpashishti, Janani Janmabhoomi. Bajirao brings a second homemaker to his wife's life, the hope of the warriors of the warriors who love the earth. He is Nana's charismatic commander. He lays the dust on the Nizam of Ujgir. And, when it comes to shedding the blood of the most dreaded Abdali, he stands up staring at the forefront.

Ashutosh Gowariker did not talk about it much during the construction of Panipat. Arjun Kapoor kept his head covered during the entire shoot of the film. Ashutosh had gone too far in his last few films like Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se and Mohenjo Daro to go off the beaten path. This time he was successful in creating new leaks of charisma rather than curiosity. His inner director with Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar is awakened again. He has firmly planted every end of the story. He has also received a lot of help from the dialogues of Ashok Chakradhar. Talking of artists in Marathi at all places may be a matter of integrity, but it is understandable. This is the victory of Ashu's direction.

This film is in the cast of Arjun Kapoor. The entire lobby of Hindi cinema is eager to read Arjun Kapoor's Murcia. But, Arjun has shown this time as Savyasachi. His demeanor and his weak grip on Hindi may be evident elsewhere, but Ashutosh has hidden these stains with cinematic colors. Kriti's charisma in Parvati Bai's character is also worth watching. She is emblazoned in the same film as the jeweler who has worn diamonds. Sanjay Dutt's deal doll may not be as effective as Ranveer Singh of Bajirao Mastani because of his age, but he succeeds whenever he wants to awaken a terrorist.

The success of the film Panipat is also in its technical skills. Steven Bernad makes the film fly like a kite. First a slight relaxation and then a gentleness. CK in moving the graph of the film slowly up. Muralitharan's cinematography and Ajay Atul's music also support. Marathi music has been a feature of Ajay Atul. The power of their drum cards in Panipat is also why it works.
