Five years old Shivani Shivaji Roy was busted by human trafficking gang. Now she has gone from Inspector to Superintendent of Police. In the intervening five years, Rani Mukherjee has also given another great film Hichki. Rani Mukherjee's career has seen all the ups and downs since the Raja Ki Aayegi procession. In Hindi cinema, she has made her mark as an actress who may be small in stature but Parvaz has always stood tall. At the age of 41, the hard work, dedication and passion that Rani has introduced in the film Mardaani 2 is an example for other actresses.

Shivani Shivaji Roy is a myth about the rise of strong female characters in Hindi cinema. This year anyway, the box office has saluted every film in which actresses put their acting in front of people more than their glamor and performed characters that people thought to be around them. In unequal circumstances, such a struggle of life has been rarely shown by actresses in Hindi cinema in any one year. Shivani Shivaji Roy is confronted this time with an unseen criminal who is involved in the crime of treason and the young men of his target are the targets of the day. This criminal named Sunny is not only the dreaded but he plans his crimes and executes them.

Rani Mukerji's performance as Shivani Shivaji Roy managed to introduce his personality to a new dimension. Throughout the film, she introduced herself as a woman who has khaki on her body, but there is still humanity in her heart. She keeps herself in moderation. Somewhere she does not appear in the police like Mumbai movies, her performance keeps her character close to reality. The way Rani first presented herself in front of the camera in Mardaani then Hichki and now Mardaani 2, it also proves that the career of actresses in Hindi cinema can also be prolonged provided that she progresses in the selection of stories and her acting Stay Vishal Jethwa has also done commendable work as the villain of the film. In the very first film, such work can take them miles ahead. He managed to understand the layers of his character and was also able to develop the language of his dialogues according to the location.

Gopi Putheran has set the pace of the film Mardaani from the first scene. There is no song anywhere. There is no unnecessary escape. The film opens layer by layer and keeps the audience hooked to the end. John Stewart Iduri's background music helps the film quite well in this. The film keeps on giving the drink of women empowerment again and again but in the current environment it does not knock much. Every artist of the film has faith in his character and whether these actors talk among themselves or with the audience, there remains a flow of the film.

Jishnu Bhattacharjee's cinematography acted like a character in the film. His camera pulls the audience inside the story right from the first scene. Editing of Monisha Baldawa adds a little more to this feat. Both technicians keep trying to save the narration of the film till it becomes too cinematic and manages to portray Rani Mukerji's performance as a hero. The film Mardaani 2 also helps the atmosphere created by recent heinous criminal incidents against women in the country and manages to achieve the status of a successful film in Rani Mukherjee's account.
